Hello,
I’m a 38 year old woman (soon 39) and recently went through my third cycle of egg freezing. The first time I was 37,5 years and out of 23 eggs retrieved, 5 were mature. The second time resulted in 22 eggs and 6 mature. On my last cycle everything seemed to go well with follicles maturing in sync and good results from blood tests (the doctor expected 7-10 mature eggs), but it turned out that only 2 out of 10 eggs retrieved were mature.
I now have 13 eggs in total, but I’m concerned this will not be enough. Is there a point doing another egg freezing cycle with results like this? I’ve understood that usually around 80-85% of eggs retrieved are mature, while in my case only around 20-27%. I don’t know what can be wrong and suspecting something could be related to my thyroid (TSH 2.88) or perhaps low blood flow. Is there anything I can do to improve my chances and is it true that the eggs I have already frozen have a lower chance of working due to the low percentage of mature eggs?
